Cultural Experience
Cultural Experience is a General English course with a difference. It is also the reason why Language in London is the first school in the world to win the British Council prize for innovation in English teaching.
We asked you what you wanted for a short course and your answers were:
- We don't want to use a course book or to sit in a classroom.
- We don't want to do the same grammar lessons we have done at home.
- We want the chance to have lots and lots of speaking practice.
- We want to learn as much new vocabulary as possible.
- WE WANT SOMETHING WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
What will I learn on this course?
The main focus is on speaking and building vocabulary.
Where will the lessons take place?
Everyday is in a different place and we have developed lessons for the following places: British Museum, British Library, Tate Gallery, National Gallery, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Foundling Museum, Museum of Childhood, Museum of London, National Portrait Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum.

What is a typical day on this course?
Every day is different - the only typical thing is that you will learn and practise English. One day you may be preparing a spoken presentation, on another you may be writing a report. You course will also include listening practise with tours and films and a lot of reading and vocabulary. You will also have homework and be expected to work hard during the course. On average you will spend five hours a day studying and learning English.
When can I take this course?
The course is available every month of year.
How long is the course?
You can take Cultural Experience for a minimum of one week and a maximum of two weeks.
Can I combine Cultural Experience with a General English or exam course?
Yes - you can add E2, E3, E4, E5 or E6. This means that you can combine Cultural Experience to make a more intensive programme.
