| Will you arrange accommodation for me? |
Yes, we can arrange for you to stay in a homestay, private home or student residence. We will be happy to give you advice and help you choose the right place. |
| Will I be close to school? |
We always try to place our students as close to the school as possible. Sometimes the accommodation is in walking distance or you may have a journey by bus or underground (between 10 - 40 minutes). Please remember that "close to the school" does not mean it will be the best accommodation. London is a very big city and everyone here spends time every day travelling to work, school or for social reasons. Using the bus and underground is part of London life! |
| How will I get to the accommodation from the airport? |
We can arrange for a taxi to meet you at the airport or will give you details to go by public transport. |
| What is homestay? |
Homestay is accommodation where you stay with a host in flat or house. You can also practise your English when you have breakfast and dinner with the host. |
| What is a host? |
Your host will either be a single person or a couple. Some hosts have children, others may be older and retired. |
| What is a private home? |
The difference between a private home and homestay is that in a private home you are responsible for making your own breakfast and dinner. This means you will have less contact with your host and so it is a good choice for students who want to be more independent. |
| What is a student residence? |
We place students in a number of different residences, which are great places for making friends and meeting lots of people from all over the world. Residences are usually quite basic with simple furniture and plain decorations. |
| What happens if I am not happy in my accommodation? |
We speak to all our students when they arrive to see if they are happy in their accommodation. If there is a serious problem we will move you to a new place. |
| Can I share my room? |
We can arrange shared homestay and private home if two people book a course together. Most rooms in the student residences are shared. This is usually two people but can be more (e.g. The Generator). |
| Can I have a private bathroom? |
In homestays you will share the bathroom with the host / family. It is possible to arrange accommodation with a private bathroom but the cost is higher. Please ask the school for more details. |
| How do I book the accommodation? |
Please complete the application form with your first and second choice accommodation. Please ask lots of questions - we are here to help you! |
| Who arranges the accommodation? |
Your accommodation will be arranged by a member of staff at Language in London. We have a list of homestay hosts and sometimes use an accommodation agency to find the right place for you. All accommodation has been inspected by the school or by the agency. |
| Is there a fee for arranging the accommodation? |
Yes, all students pay one fee of £45 if you want the school to arrange your accommodation. |
